Opening first phase "TNO Caribe" and "Europe House"
16 November 2011
On the 27th of October the Prime Minister of Aruba, Mr. Mike Eman, opened the first phase of the knowledge center. Croon has been working on the technical installations, electrical and air conditioning, of the new "TNO Caribe" and the "Europe House".
The event took place at the second “Green Aruba” conference, where the sustainable development of Aruba was discussed. The Prime Minister of Aruba wants to create a country whose economic engine doesn’t run on tourism only. The opening of the science center was an important step in the realization of this ambition.
TNO will be one of the parties involved with this sustainable development and will use the Aruba location (only the second outside the Netherlands) with a "living lab", a certification counter and a summer school project.
Croon is now working on the second phase of the project, which started directly after the opening of the first phase. In the second phase the TNO office space will be expanded and the laboratory will be build.
